FOM Rising Stars Soiree: Tango Nights

Sun Apr 22, 18:00 - Sun Apr 22, 20:30
Bowmans Law

On Sunday 22nd April, The Friends of Orchestral Music, in association with Bowmans Law, will host the first of three fundraising soirees in 2018 as part of their mandate to raise funds and awareness for orchestral music and musicians in Cape Town.

These glittering evenings will take place on the 11th floor of the Bowmans’ Cape Town office, where guests will be greeted to a sunset drink overlooking the city, before settling down to a concert featuring some of South Africa’s finest rising star musicians.  All the musicians are longtime friends- brought together through music, and they will share their stories around the pieces they have chosen with the audience- giving a unique intimacy to the evening. After the music has finished the evening continues with drinks and sumptuous canapés created by Bowmans’ chef.

Tango Nights on 22nd April, features flautist Myles Roberts, violinist David Bester and Sulayman Human on piano. All studied together at Stellenbosch University before furthering their studies in Milan, Belgium and America. Their programme evokes tango nights of South America from sonatas by Ginestera to favourites from the movies of Manhã de Carnaval, Il Postino and Histoire du Tango.

Start time- 6 for 6.30. Bowmans' Cape Town Office, 22 Bree Street, Cape Town. Guest parking available.

Only 100 tickets are available per soirée at a price of R400 per person. FOM members pay R350 and there is a special 100 Club Series pass for all 3 soirées at a price of R1100 (R950 for FOM members).
