World Social Workers Day - CHILD WELFARE Durban and District

CHILD WELFARE Durban and District will be hosting “World Social Workers Day” in celebration to our 100 years of Child Protection Services.  We will be acknowledging all past and current social workers who have contributed to this milestone achievement and also thank all members associated to this journey to success.

The 2018 World Social Day highlights “Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability.” This theme is the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development.It is the key day in the year that social workers worldwide stand together to celebrate the achievements of profession and take the theme message into their communities, workplaces and to their governments to raise awareness of the social work contributions and need for further action.

This event will provide a platform for taking our participants on a journey from when CHILD WELFARE Durban and District started in 1918 to date. We will reminisce on the social work profession dating back from the year of 1918. This will highlight the high’s, low’s, challenges and milestones Social Workers are faced with on a daily basis (as a snap shot) and also include slide shows and renowned speakers.

Our aim is to utilise this event to raise funds in this financial year and also use this platform to rekindle with all old and new social workers / staff members along with all associates of CWDD. This will indirectly also aid in gathering lost information and pictures about the organization which may assist in the future.
