Impact Hub Joburg

ABOUT

Our monthly Fuck-Up night on the 22nd of Feb (free of charge) will continue the theme of Money matters as we dedicate an entire month to all things financial.

During the month of February, Impact Hub Johannesburg (IHJ) will focus is on financial wellness and savviness. This is after the long month of Jan-u-worry (January), where after having spent most of their financial reserves; the average South African is now working with deficit, praying their way to pay day! Through the Money Matters Series, IHJ wants to emotionally and intellectually equip individuals to build healthier relationships with money.

The aim of the Money Matter matters series is to help attendees:
1. Understand how their relationship with money is tied to identity and emotions
2. Know what the differences between income and wealth are
3. Identify how you build wealth sustainably
4. Understand the role of debt in your wealth-creation

*** 28 Feb 6pm to 9pm Mandisa Zavala, Investment Analyst ***

In March 2014, Mandisa joined Allan Gray as an Investment Consultant, where she played a key role in the stewardship of positive client and adviser relationships. In this role, some of her duties were to respond assist clients on understanding an investment product and its performance profile across the business cycle, provide legislative or process information on the available offerings, and assist financial advisers, where necessary, with financial planning tools.
While in this role, Mandisa found her passion for investments, and subsequently joined Boutique Investment Partners as an Investment Analyst. She has been with this team for close to three years now and does not regret a second of it. Upon joining, she was immediately trained into the position of Head of Asset Allocation
At the end of 2017, she was awarded the role of Currency-Risk Strategist, which allows her to not only monitor the different currencies the portfolios are exposed to (to identify any potential risks), but to also formulate the team’s current Strategic view on the Global Economy, thereby formulating the House’s Macro Regime view. This serves as an anchor for the entire process and ultimately feeds into Asset Allocation and Portfolio Positioning decisions.
