PLOT: Matilda Wormwood is a brilliant, book-loving young girl with telekinetic powers who is neglected by her swindling, abusive parents. At Crunchem Hall Elementary School, she encounters the cruel, tyrannical headmistress Miss Trunchbull—who terrorizes students and throws them into "The Chokey"—while forming a deep bond with the kind-hearted teacher Miss Honey.
