ABOUT
YOGA LAB : Breath, Bindhu, and Prana Awareness
The last in this series of 5 Yoga Lab Workshops.
Via the breath, we explore the authentic direction of the yoga path, an inward journey. There is a path which leads us away from superficial, external distraction and toward an inner stillness. This in time, brings refined character traits and the fulfilment of deeper connections.
The workshop of traditional Pranayama "Breathwork" examines the cord that ties all the prior workshops together. Each of the previous workshops ( The Stances, Birds, Binds, Balances ) gave aspiring yogis one or more breathing perspectives, threads that draw the mind from outer to inner.
Strong respiratory muscle function is also a basis of vitality and an indicator for longevity.
The control and refinement of our breath naturally occurs as a by product of consistent and comprehensive asana practice but having strong lung function alone is also not the deeper purpose of yoga.
These perspectives and techniques of breath will be integrated with particular techniques leading us to effortless retention in 'maha mudra' and a calm meditative centre. In this workshop I will attempt also to share the subtle methods of internal visualisation known as pranavidya which lead to refined states.
For those who are suitably prepared, the pranavidya practices bring a profound stability. The lessor known practice of moving pranic energy through the system, sometimes described as "peircing the bindu" using only a calmly focusssed mind is the "next Level" of yoga practice which many experienced practitioners should be seeking.
Please feel free to enquire as to your suitabilty for this workshop.
