DISTANCE: Approximately 13km | ±5 hours

Explore the stunning 560-hectare Cumberland Private Nature Reserve, east of Pietermaritzburg. Discover pristine savanna, woodland, wetlands, deep gorges, waterfalls and spectacular cliff faces. A fantastic adventure for nature lovers, photographers and experienced hikers!

• Over 300 bird species

• More than 50 butterfly species

• Over 200 wildflower species

• Approximately 30 mammal species, including giraffes and zebras

• Abundant indigenous trees and grasses

• Rietspruit Stream and Umgeni River ecosystems

• Distance: Approximately 13km

• Duration: Approximately 5 hours

• Regular hikers: Grade 2.5

• Casual hikers: Grade 3.5

• Cumberland is a private reserve and is closed to general day visitors. Access details will be sent to confirmed participants via WhatsApp.

• A minimum of 10 confirmed bookings is required for the hike to proceed. If the minimum is not met, refunds will be processed.

• No refunds or credits for no-shows.
