ABOUT
George Burton X Siya Makuzeni- White Noise Tour
A Transatlantic (USA/South Africa) collaboration, SBYA for Jazz 2016 Siya Makuzeni meets NAACP Image Award Nominee George Burton in this cross cultural dialogue and expansion of George's 2024 "White Noise" album release, featuring Siya Makuzeni's Xhosa music/Jazz-Elektro idiom. Born from a virtual encounter fueled by mutual artistic appreciation, this project represents a rich, cross-cultural conversation between two visionary artists. American pianist
George Burton and South African vocalist/trombonist Siya Makuzeni have embarked on an organic exploration of sound, reimagining Burton's "White Noise" album through the unique lens of Makuzeni's Xhosa and Jazz-Elektro influences. This creative synergy first came to life in the Dark Science Quintet Workshop at Brooklyn's famed Bar Lunatico in June 2026.
