There are seasons when we plant, seasons when we grow quietly, and seasons when we finally step into the fullness of who we are. For South African singer and songwriter Nomisupasta, IN FULL BLOOM is an invitation to witness what happens when an artist embraces every version of herself.

Born Nomsa Mazwai, Nomisupasta has carved out a distinctive musical identity through thoughtful songwriting, expressive vocals and a willingness to move between genres. Her sound draws on elements of hip-hop, soul, jazz and alternative African music, creating space for personal reflection, social commentary and a distinctly South African perspective.

Her self-titled debut album earned her a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best African Alternative Album in 2011, establishing her as an artist unafraid to follow her own creative path.

On 3 November, Nomisupasta returns to Untitled Basement with IN FULL BLOOM, bringing together the songs that have accompanied her journey and the music of her album Surrender. Through songs including “With You”, “Nguwe”, “Sweet Poison”, “Maybe I” and “Butterflies”, audiences are invited to revisit the different seasons of her artistry: the discoveries, the uncertainties and the truths that sometimes reveal themselves long before we fully understand them.

At the heart of this new chapter is Surrender, with executive production by her sister, acclaimed musician Thandiswa Mazwai. Featuring contributions from South African and international collaborators, including Andile Yenana, Mr. Porter, Rapsody, Madlib and PH Raw X, the project expands Nomisupasta’s musical world while remaining grounded in storytelling, identity and social consciousness.

For Nomisupasta, surrender is not about defeat. It is about releasing the need to control every outcome, learning to trust the process and allowing space for transformation. It is a personal and creative reckoning with what it means to let go, have faith and become more fully oneself.

Accompanied by a full band, IN FULL BLOOM promises an evening of musical rediscovery, reflection and renewal. It is an opportunity to experience familiar songs in a new light, encounter the woman behind the music and hear what emerges when an artist gives herself permission to grow.

Because blooming is not always about becoming someone new. Sometimes, it is about finally giving yourself the light, space and freedom to open.
