Old Vines in the Future

South Africa’s old vines carry generations of knowledge, but what will it take to keep them thriving for generations to come?

Join the Old Vine Project for Old Vines in the Future. This workshop brings together researchers, industry experts, growers and winemakers. Together, we’ll explore the research and ideas shaping our heritage vineyards.

The programme will cover sustainability and conservation in farming. We’ll look at the changing age profile of South Africa’s vineyards and what shifting climate conditions could mean for them. We’ll also share practical ways to build resilience in the vineyard and explore the economic sustainability of old vines.
