Rave for Rent Control #2

WHO WE ARE

Rent Control is a growing community of volunteers, tenants, artists, engineers and activists who care about communities, housing and justice. The housing crisis in Cape Town is out of control. Working- and middle-class people are feeling the brunt of insane rents and community displacement with the growth of AirBnBs and the global financialisation of property in the City.

We are a humble collection of volunteers, powered by knowledge, determination, and a collective wanting for something more from politics than what currently exists. One of the most important tools we have is the ability to educate and raise awareness amongst residents of the City, but creating these materials can be expensive - so we’ve decided to put on a party so that we can help raise these funds together!

COMMUNITIES ARE BETTER WITH YOU IN IT

We’re aiming to raise R5000 for materials printing. A ticket for entry will cost R50, but please donate more if you can! We will also be selling Rent Control fundraising stickers at R50 each. All proceeds will go towards the printing of pamphlets, flyers and stickers to put all over the City.

With love and solidarity
