CRUSHING ON MOVIE CLUB PRESENTS: SIRAT (2025)

Some films scare you. Others get under your skin and refuse to let go.

Join Crushing On Movie Club for a screening of Sirat (2025), the critically acclaimed, genre-defying film from Spanish filmmaker Óliver Laxe, which won the Jury Prize at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

Set against the vast, unforgiving landscapes of southern Morocco, Sirat follows Luis and his young son as they search for his missing daughter, who disappeared months earlier at a rave. Their search leads them into the desert alongside a group of ravers heading towards one final party. But as the journey continues, the line between freedom, fear and survival begins to blur.

A hypnotic blend of electronic music, haunting desert landscapes and mounting psychological tension, Sirat is an immersive cinematic experience that challenges what it means to be afraid. It’s the perfect choice for our theme: The Film That Scared Me — films that got under your skin.
