No Scrubs is a hot new monthly comedy lineup showcasing the funniest women and gender non-conforming comedians in South Africa… and that one man your therapist actually approves of!

Following in the clown-shaped footsteps of lineup shows like Frizz Pop Comedy and First Draft, No Scrubs makes its unashamedly loud and bedazzled debut at the Gorgeous George Hotel on the 14th of November. Run by veteran producers, writers, and funny women (gasp), Samantha Carlisle, Shannon Hendry, and Cailyb Prinsloo, No Scrubs is a comedy show that dares to ask the question: does anyone backstage have a tampon I can use?

Described by misogynists as “um… interesting?” and “maybe worth it for the one guy on the lineup”, No Scrubs plays with the traditional format of a standup comedy lineup. With five acts, two intervals, a live band, and a wild card act that could take just about any form, this show has something for everyone… except maybe the aforementioned misogynists.

The debut show offers audiences the chance to see fresh voices and established favourites, including the wickedly talented Emily Hitchcock, the funniest accountant you’ll ever meet Taffy Mukono, a mystery wild card act, and award-winning comedian and SAFTA-nominated writer, fresh off the back of a career-defining gig at Trevor Noah’s Bafunny Bafunny Cape Town show, Lindy Johnson. Oh, and Emily Hitchcock’s husband Callum will also be there. During the intervals you can grab a drink at the bar and enjoy a night out with the gals.
