ABOUT

Neurospicey is a one-woman performance that combines stand-up comedy, live music and raw, personal storytelling to explore what it means to navigate life with a neurodivergent brain. Drawing from Tarryn Light’s lived experience of ADHD and Autism, the work explores relationships, parenting, work, finances, identity, masking, sensory overwhelm, burnout, self-acceptance and the constant pressure to function within a world designed largely around neurotypical expectations. At its heart, Neurospicey asks: What happens when we stop trying to fit ourselves into a world that wasn’t designed for us? Who are we underneath the masks we create to make ourselves “acceptable”? And could understanding neurodiversity change the way we see ourselves — and the people around us? The work balances vulnerability with humour, celebrating the strengths, creativity, chaos and joy that can come with a neurodivergent way of experiencing the world.
