Hawksmoor House

Hawksmoor is a Cape Dutch guest house on a working farm. The farmyard complex is very large, and the garden connects the buildings with each other. There is a front lawn lined with old oak trees and beds of agapanthus and watsonia. The Mountain View Cottage garden is planted with local fynbos to try and replicate the landscape that was here centuries ago. There is a 40 metre long waterlily pond with beautiful views of Table Mountain, surrounded by rows of lavender. The vegetable garden is bordered with eight kinds of citrus trees. The round threshing floor walls have been preserved and encircle a largely indigenous garden.

Recommended visit time: 30-45 minutes.

Ticket includes access to the garden. Light meals and wine will also be available for sale.

Note: Kids welcome. Own refreshments not allowed. Partial wheelchair accessibility.
