Meet Israa in Cape Town
Join Palestinian artist, Arabic teacher and creative educator Israa for a special day of Palestinian art, heritage and creativity in Cape Town.
Presented by SAMA – Threads of Palestine, this event brings together two hands-on cultural workshops:
Palestinian Tatreez Embroidery Workshop
Discover the beauty of traditional Palestinian embroidery, learn about the meaning behind Tatreez patterns, and create your own embroidered piece step by step.
Arabic Calligraphy Workshop
Explore the beauty of Arabic letters, learn the foundations of Arabic calligraphy, practise with traditional tools, and create your own artwork to take home.
Both workshops are beginner-friendly, so no previous experience is required.
This event is also connected to a cause very close to Israa’s heart. Part of the workshop proceeds will support the educational campaign for children in Israa’s family in Gaza, helping with school and learning needs.
Come meet Israa, learn directly from her, connect with Palestinian culture, and create something meaningful.
