ABOUT
GODZILLA MINUS ZERO - Advance Screening
Catch this gigantic movie before everyone else, on 3 November, International Godzilla Day! at the Horrorfest (Labia Theatre).
From the Oscar-winning makers of the acclaimed GODZILLA MINUS ONE.
Trailer:
In this anticipated sequel to Godzilla Minus One, 1949 postwar Japan struggles to rebuild when it faces a new threat from King Gidorah, while Godzilla regenerates and resurfaces to combat the monster.
The meaning of the movie title:
- From Minus One to Zero: While the previous film (Godzilla Minus One) meant that post-war Japan was already reduced to zero by World War II and dragged into the negative by Godzilla's destruction, the sequel deals with people trying to claw their way back up to a normal baseline.
- The Energy Toward Zero: Director Takashi Yamazaki explained that the minus sign attached to zero represents the persistent human energy and agonizing effort required to return to normalcy, even as fresh dangers threaten to wipe out that hard-won peace.
- A Fragile Recovery: Set a couple of years after the first movie, society is attempting to rebuild and reset to zero, making the arrival of new monsters like King Ghidorah an immediate danger to that fragile state of recovery.
Directed by Takashi Yamazaki
Starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Yuki Yamada, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Sakura Ando, Miou Tanaka
