once a month, melville stops being a suburb and becomes an art walk route. galleries, studios, markets and creative spaces open late, and you walk between them. art, live music, workshops, night markets, and a few things you can't categorise until you're here.
november '26: the mile walks into summer.
over 40 artists and vendors applied to show this month, from oil pastel and gold leaf to afro-folk on cello and violin, with a night market around them. twelve venues are confirmed so far, and the route keeps growing until the programme drops on monday 2 november.
the poster is melville mansions on 7th street, in silver chloride and cyanotype by bertus van rooy, one of this month's artists.
old buck dry gin is back for a third time, mixing a cocktail punch with smoking kills, and black crown ciders join us for the first time. hustlenest, backed by momentum, is launching a virtual melville art mile, so the work you see on the night stays findable after it.

look out for a mam marshal in a green jozi my jozi hi-vis vest. they'll scan your ticket and fit your wristband, then hand you your map and programme, your guide to every venue, exhibition and activation for the evening.
on the vip tour? meet your guide at the stairs at the entrance to the 27 boxes parkade on 4th avenue. the walk leaves at 5pm sharp.
not parking at 27 boxes? ask a marshal for a shuttle to the vip meeting point at 4.50pm.
