Lighting Productions takes you on a musical journey down South and brings you FREEBIRD!

From the swampy banks of the mighty Mississippi, the blues was born — and from that blues came the rebellious spirit and soul of rock ’n’ roll.

In the late ’60s and early ’70s, a new movement began in the American South. Young musicians took the blues, added a generous dose of Southern soul, roots, country and swagger, and turned it into something loud, loose and unmistakably their own.

At the heart of it all were the Allman Brothers Band, the godfathers of Southern rock. With Duane Allman’s legendary slide guitar, long-form improvisation, twin-guitar harmonies and a rhythm section built to groove, they laid down the blueprint for a whole new generation of rock ’n’ roll.

Then came Lynyrd Skynyrd, taking the sound to another level with their unmistakable three-guitar attack, Southern grit and anthemic songwriting. From there, the journey keeps rolling — through the blues-soaked swagger of The Black Crowes, across the border to Canada with the roots and Americana of The Band, and down the highway to Texas for the boogie-driven guitar fire of ZZ Top.

FREEBIRD brings these legendary sounds together for one hell of a Southern rock celebration — from slow-burning blues and soulful grooves to twin-guitar harmonies, dirty Texas boogie and foot-stomping rock ’n’ roll.

So grab your boots, grab your friends, raise a glass, and get ready for a night of guitars, grooves, sweat and Southern soul.
