Come bring a picnic blanket get comfy in a secret location with an intimate set with Amy Ayanda

Amy Ayanda is a Cape Town based artist, musician and songwriter whose musical practice has unfolded over the past decade alongside her life as an artist, mother and business owner.

She began writing music during her fourth year at university and has released music sporadically over the years, moving between electronic and acoustic sounds while making space for music alongside the many other chapters of her life. During this time, she has shared stages with artists including Alice Phoebe Lou and Kozo Zwane, collaborated with Thor Rixon, and performed on the main stages of Rocking the Daisies and other festivals across South Africa.

Over the past year and a half, Amy has been quietly writing a new body of work, drawing increasingly from the intimacy and simplicity of acoustic songwriting. Inspired by artists such as Karen Dalton, Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake, her new songs are stripped back, slow and deeply emotional, marking a move towards some of her most honest songwriting to date.

She is currently in the process of completing her next album, with plans to release it in March 2027. After spending so long developing the work privately, she is beginning to share these new songs in their rawest form.

Although she has performed on some of South Africa’s larger stages, Amy finds her greatest joy in small, intimate spaces where the songs can be experienced without much between the artist and the listener.

Her Johannesburg show will be a rare, intimate preview of this new body of work, performed in a secret location for a very small audience.
