A self-defence experience for women, high above Cape Town.

South Africa has declared gender-based violence a national disaster. Let that sink in. As women, we're not safe walking to our cars, getting home at night, or sometimes even in our own homes. We can no longer rely on the government, or the men in our communities, to protect us. So we're learning to protect ourselves.

On Saturday 28 November, Black Rose Concepts, a female-owned Cape Town company founded by Bongiwe Mosele-Magampa, brings back its second annual Women's Self-Defence Class. This year we're on a indoor rooftop with sweeping views over the city.

90 minutes that could change everything.

You'll train hands-on with Frank Lebert of Krav Maga Africa. Frank is a German-qualified, IKMF-certified Krav Maga instructor who teaches both civilians and law enforcement. Krav Maga was built for real-world danger. It's fast, practical, and designed to work under pressure, whatever your size or strength. You'll leave knowing how to react, how to break free, and how to get yourself to safety.

This is a safe, supportive space to build skills, confidence, and the instinct to fight back. You'll arrive as yourself and leave as a warrior.

After the session, you can catch your breath with a healthy post-workout drink, soak up the rooftop views, and connect with women who refuse to be victims. Everyone takes home a FAB goodie bag packed with treasures from awesome local brands, and one lucky warrior wins our lucky draw, a Black Rose Concepts gift box.

Every woman is welcome. The class is open to all ages and fitness levels, and no experience is needed. Just bring your exercise mat, a water bottle, and your fighting spirit.
