Join us as we kick off 2018 with our first #SCTech Talk focusing on challenges and opportunities for emerging tech startups. Our keynote speaker, Lebo Madise, the Provincial Manager of MLabs will share her journey and lessons learned from working with emerging tech entrepreneurs and turning their dreams into businesses.

Lebogang Madise is the Provincial Manager for mLab Western Cape Region. In her role she provides support to Tech startups by helping them bridge the gaps between & within product development, piloting their innovation and raising seed funding. With experience that stems from a software development background, Lebogang has lead a number of lean innovation programs that focus on solving problems with persons from multi-disciplinary backgrounds and created valuable connections between founders and Corporates.
Everyone wants to know, how they can turn their idea into a business, read as (become a tech founder billionaire), although there’s no recipe, Lebogang will share her experiences of working with founders of emerging tech companies in both Gauteng and the Western Cape, from students with Zuckerberg vision, talented self taught developers to a young individual faced with a socio-economic challenge for which they have no choice but to solve themselves.

Prince Enoch Nwadeyi is an African Tech entrepreneur and CEO of iSpani Group an innovative data driven business, who believes that the power to change the socio-economic and political outcomes of the African continent and its people is resident in our ability to harness data. He believes that we do not buy into decisions but we buy into consequences and that data enables us to de-risk the outcome.
Prince equally serves as an Ambassador of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund and is a staunch activist for the rights of Children in South Africa. The present we live in is borrowed from the future and it’s important that we realise that.

Karl Carter is Founder and CEO of Snake Nation.
Snake Nation is disruptive media and monetization company for millennial Creative Rebels based in Atlanta, GA and Cape Town, SA. Karl is a passionate entrepreneur, with 20 + years expertise in Branded Entertainment, innovation, creative, marketing/media platforms and strategic growth.

Pascale first pursued her passion in tech during her studies in Information Systems at UCT. After graduating (B.Com Honours) and publishing her thesis on RLabs and the impact of e-learning initiatives in underprivileged communities, she started her role as Business Systems Analyst at GetSmarter, coordinating several projects to foster growth and operational happiness.


Louise Mitchell – persuasive pitch and presentation trainer, speaker, editor and writer – has over 30 years’ experience in business-to-business communication as well as professional communication at the University of Cape Town. Louise holds interactive, engaging workshops on pitching for investment; pitching for business; persuasive presentations and better business communication as well as coaching individuals for perfection in advance of public speaking events, conferences and sales presentations.

Caitlin Nash, Managing Partner at The Loudhailer
A communication strategist and implementer from the heart. Obsessed with structure and efficiencies as much as the importance of passion and partnerships. Experience in executive support, government, leadership, and innovation messaging.
The Loudhailer specializes in the structure, growth and optimization of communication functions for startups, investors, corporates and decision makers.

Subhas Shah is the COO of rowdfunding platform, Candystick.
This is the second crowdfunding site that he manages and from an operational level. Through managing crowdfunding sites, he has gained vast knowledge and understands how one needs to market a product, to be understood for funding/investment. He also has experience in design process and design thinking to understanding big data and markets. There is no project great or small that has to go through the same level of process to be successful.

Zelda provides free online career guidance for students looking to enter university and then links them to bursary and study opportunities.
We test and assess students to create a holistic personal profile and then, using that profile, match them with opportunities that best suit their interests and abilities. Thereafter we streamline the application process for the various opportunities.
