A Grand Night for Singing | The 2026 Dean’s Concert

An evening of exceptional voices, beautiful music and a shared purpose.

Join UJ Arts & Culture on Saturday, 7 November 2026, for A Grand Night for Singing, the annual Dean’s Concert in support of the Dean’s Bursary Fund.

FADA Executive Dean and baritone Professor Federico Freschi returns to the stage alongside acclaimed pianist Christopher Duigan and soprano Angela Gilbert. The UJ Choir, led by choirmaster Sizwe Mondlane, will add the power of its collective voice to this musical celebration.

The concert brings accomplished artists and student performers together for an evening that promises moments of intimacy, energy and joy. It is also an opportunity for audiences to make a difference beyond the stage. The Dean’s Bursary Fund supports academically deserving students in UJ’s Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture who face financial barriers to completing their studies.

Join us for a night that celebrates what music can bring us together to do.
