THE LUYANDA MADOPE TRIO – A JOURNEY IN JAZZ

Following a run of sold-out performances, The Luyanda Madope Trio brings its deeply expressive live jazz experience to The Whirlwind Theatre at the Delta Environmental Centre.

Led by award-winning pianist, vocalist and composer Luyanda Madope, with Mzwandile Kunene on double bass and Sipho SJ Malinga on drums, the trio brings together three exceptional musicians in an evening of improvisation, storytelling and deeply rooted African jazz.

Madope's music moves between contemporary jazz and African musical traditions, while Kunene's rich double bass and Malinga's distinctive, sensitive approach to rhythm create a musical conversation that is intimate, spontaneous and alive.

Audiences can expect music of depth, sensitivity and connection – sophisticated jazz, soulful melodies and the extraordinary chemistry of three musicians listening and responding to one another in the moment.
