This Christmas, step inside Dickens’ timeless ghost story.

Drawn directly from the original novella and adapted for the stage by Jeff Johnson, A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story for Christmas places Scrooge at the heart of a darker and deeply human journey through consequence and redemption.

Richard Higgs stars as Ebenezer Scrooge, surrounded by an ensemble of 28 young performers who transform into more than 80 characters, spirits and shadows as Dickens’ story unfolds around him.

Johnson, who directed The Masque’s 2025 production of Little Shop of Horrors, returns with a production faithful to the language and spirit of the book, but boldly theatrical in its telling. This is A Christmas Carol as a true ghost story; haunting, funny, joyful and ultimately, full of hope.

A Christmas experience for all ages (recommended for 5 and older), filled with ghosts, laughter and plenty of theatrical magic - whether you know the story by heart or are meeting Scrooge and his ghosts for the very first time.

THINGS TO KNOW:

* Please arrive on time - no entry is allowed after the show starts. Latecomers will be admitted at interval only.

* Children must have their own seat - no sitting on laps.

* No outside food or drinks are allowed. Refreshments are available for purchase inside.

* You're welcome to take food and drinks into the theatre, but please return your glasses to the bar afterward.

* No flash photography or videography is permitted during the performance.

* Free secure parking is available just 50 meters past the theatre (next to the Woodshop). The lot closes 30 minutes after the show ends. Please avoid parking in residential roads to keep access clear for local residents.
