Round Table Lunches, part of & FRIENDS curated by Mamakashaka, is a monthly Sunday gathering that brings chefs and food creatives to the table to share thoughtful menus, good food and conversation. For the summer residency, Lady Day Food joins the series with a menu centred on the joy of sharing food and spending time around the table.

For this edition, Lady Day Food explores food cooked over fire, inspired by the warmer summer months and the way fire naturally brings people together.

Drawing inspiration from the KwaMai Mai platter — a communal spread of grilled and cooked foods — the menu reinterprets this familiar way of eating through Lady Day Food’s culinary style and influences. Flavours and techniques from different cultures come together, with fire, smoke and char serving as the common thread throughout the meal.

The lunch is designed to feel relaxed, social and abundant — celebrating summer and the simple pleasure of sharing food cooked over a live fire.
