Vusi Mahlasela - simply known as ‘The Voice’ in our beautiful country, South Africa is celebrated for his distinct, powerful voice and his poetic, optimistic lyrics. His songs of hope connect Apartheid-scarred South Africa with its promise for a better future.

• Premium seated table tickets are closer to the stage and enjoy the full café Roux food & beverage menu.
• Grass tickets further back are offered in spots comprising 2 to 4 tickets. Here, holders are encouraged to bring a blanket or cushions to sit on - and can enjoy a smaller menu of pizza, salads, calamari, burgers & select drinks.

• Like Kirstenbosch, we go ahead in light rain, so please dress accordingly!
• No cooler boxes permitted
• To be considerate to others, only very low beach chairs are permitted on the grass
• Parking is very limited at The Farm Village over the high season, so please walk/Uber/travel together – or use side roads around the Village!

Raised in the Mamelodi Township, where he still resides, Vusi became a singer-songwriter and poet-activist at an early age, teaching himself how to play guitar and later joining the Congress of South African Writers. After his popular debut on BMG Africa, “When You Come Back,” Vusi was asked to perform at Nelson Mandela’s inauguration in 1994 and has toured globally to share the stage with Dave Matthews Band, Sting, Paul Simon, Josh Groban, Ray LaMontagne, Natalie Merchant, Taj Mahal, among many others.

In 2003, fellow South African Dave Matthews signed Vusi to ATO Records and began releasing his albums in North America to great acclaim.

Vusi has released ten beloved albums over the last two decades; his two most recent releases are “Shebeen Queen” (ATO Records), a celebration of the vibrant musical culture of his hometown, first encountered at his grandmother’s shebeen.

And now, Vusi Mahlasela's latest album ‘Umoya’ released in September 2023 to great acclaim.

This extraordinary and deeply personal work is Vusi’s first studio album of new songs in 13 years. The eagerly critically acclaimed set was recorded at Flame Studios at Constitution Hill,and produced by multiple Grammy Award winner JB Arthur. Working with a small crew of young musicians - several of whom are graduates of Vusi’s own music development foundation - Umoya is a welcome return to Vusi’s folk music roots.

UMOYA has just been nominated for 2 South African Music Awards (SAMA’s)in the categories Best African Adult Contemporary Album & Best Engineered Album. And on top of that a Grammy consideration as Best Global Music Album.

Vusi Mahlasela is performing regularly locally and Internationally with his most noted performance being with the super Dave Mathews Band in December 2023 at the Sunbet Arena.
