The turn of the century saw Manser reignite modern day exploration. Making history as he decided to do human powered journeys that have never been attempted before. Cycling around Africa, kayaking around Madagascar and Iceland, rowing from Africa to New York City - pushing himself to the limits of human endurance.
Now the adventure is changing.
We have the privilege of bringing Manser as a guest speaker to the intimate café Roux stage. It’s a rare opportunity for the open public to hear Manser speak as passionately as he does. It’s decades of in-person knowledge gained through world first experiences. The extraordinary moments, the disasters, the humour, the fear and what living outside his comfort zone have taught him.
But this isn't only about looking back.
Today Riaan is a husband, father and News24 Outdoor Editor and his next great adventure is already underway: sailing with his wife and young children, on their boat Shaka Zulu. A dream of taking their family around the world.
