Kids Holiday Club (6-12yrs) - Muizenberg

HOW TO BOOK:

Choose the tickets for the days of your choice.

If you book for 4 days or more Quicket will automatically apply a 10% discount

If you book for all 8 days Quicket will automatically apply a 14% discount

PROGRAMME:

Each day will flow with a healthy rhythm of discussion and discovery, focused activity followed by some movement and games. We will have a lunch break and free play and then return to the main activity which will take us to the end of the morning.

8:30 - 9:00 - Arrive / Free play

9:00 - 9:30 - Circle time - meet and greet and introduce activity

9:30 - 10:30 - Main activity

10:30 - 11:30 - Lunch snack and free play

11:30 - 12:30 - Main activity

12:30 - 13:00 - Tidy up and closing circle

WEEK ONE: 28TH SEP - 1ST OCT / 8:30AM - 13:00PM

MON 28th: RECYCLED PAPER MAKING

We will learn the art of making paper sheets with flower petals and seeds as well as creating some fun sculptures from paper mache.

TUES 29th: BOOK MAKING (WITH OUR RECYCLED PAPER)

There will be a focus on storytelling, the children will come up with their own stories for their books. They will use mixed media, collage, drawing, writing, ect, to tell their stories and sew pages together.

WED 30th: ECO PRINTING (NATURAL DYEING ON A CAMP FIRE)

We will do a leaf treasure hunt and learn the names of the plants. These leaves will be wrapped up in a cotton strip, bound, soaked in iron water and steamed on the fire in a big pot. The children will be part of the fire prep and while we wait for the magic to happen we will make Stokbrood on the fire as a snack. Our strips will eventually be ready to hang up to dry and admired, ready for the next day to make into bags!

THURS 1st: BAG SEWING

With our eco printed cotton we will sew our bags, learning dolphin or blanket stich. We will make wool twisties for the handles and children can decorate with beads ect if they have enough time.

WEEK TWO: 5TH OCT - 8TH OCT / 8:30 - 13:00

MON 5th: CANDLE DIPPING

We will learn the art of candle dipping with different color waxes.

TUES 6th: UPCYCLED SCULPTURE MAKING

We will be diving into the world story and 3D cardboard sculpture making and painting, where creativity can get messy and go wild!

WED 7th: CLAY PLAY

Here the children will have the opportunity to create various things with the clay, candleholders for their candles, beads for necklaces or fantastical creatures, we will paint these as well.

THURS 8th: WEAVING

We will delve into the art of weaving, looking at the different birds and animals who weave. The children will have a choice between different types of weaving and will create something beautiful.

WHAT TO BRING:

Please can you pack a lunch and water bottle for your child for snack time.
