Friday will kick off with a massive "bundu" fire over looking the stage, swimming pools and communal area followed by a welcome by the host. This is the time to get familiar with the layout of the land, and each other. It is here where we open the festival with some melodic electronic beats while we all take in the beautiful nature around us and view the program for the weekend. (Please note, all activities will be put on a black board and are subject to change slightly due to different facilitators and their length of classes given.
After opening, Ann Jangle and Sagarias Tsam, from the Namibian desert of Swakopmund will serenade everyone with West African rhythmic Blues and World Folk songs. For more info, please visit YouTube for their collaboration videos.
Saturday will kick off at 9am with morning yoga and somatic breathing followed by relaxing live music. Collaborations between artists from the West Coast to the East Coast to the most southern tip of Africa will all join in the spirit of "UBUNTU". If you feel led to bring an instrument and join, please do so with respect to the artist performing.
After a morning either spent around a fire or morning Yoga, a Khoi//San Soundscape starts at 11am, guiding you into the afternoon. Lie on your yoga mat or on one of the picnic blankets provided and allow the frequencies of 639 Hz to take you far away. Ann Jangle had facilitated sound journeys over the last few years across Africa, from Cape Town to Kenya, UK and Europe.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are filled with different meditations, breathwork classes, live music and children's activities, both around the stage and on the beach.
That said, it's important to leave room for relaxing, swimming, sunbathing and doing nothing.
SO GET YOUR TICKETS NOW AND JOIN US HERE, IN THE BAREFOOT CAPITAL, FOR THE FIRST GATHERING OF ITS KIND!
