With a career spanning more than a decade, four acclaimed albums, and an impressive collection of awards, Jacques De Villiers, better known as JNDR, has carved out a unique place in South African music.

His debut album in 2013 earned two Ghoema Awards, a Tempo Award and a Woordfees Award, including Best Contemporary Album by a Male Artist and Newcomer of the Year. His second album, Die Wêreld binne my, went on to win two Ghoemas and a SAMA Award, with the title track taking home Song of the Year.

Since then, JNDR has released Someraarde (2019) and Die Vallei (2023), the latter earning an Aitsa Award and a SAMA nomination.

A trained Jazz Piano graduate from TUT, JNDR brings a rich musicality and a distinctive way of experiencing and expressing life through song.

And now, there’s a new chapter.

In 2024, JNDR launched JNDR Seuns van Vlug — an alternative rock project that explores an entirely new sound, with their first music released in March 2025.

From intimate songwriting to alternative rock, JNDR continues to evolve, experiment and tell stories through music.
