Let’s explore the realities of working under pressure and the factors testing the limits of our sector such as funding strain, compliance hurdles and operational fatigue. Let’s unpack these pressures and build sustainable solutions together!
What we’ll explore
- Navigating Core Pressures: Examining the major systemic pressure points influencing daily operations and the fundraising landscape.
- Governance and Long-Term Sustainability: Exploring robust governance frameworks and sustainable social enterprise business models.
- Well-being and Strategic Communication: Understanding and managing physical and mental responses to professional stress, while strengthening organisational pitching and communication.
- “We Listen & We Learn”: Creating space for peer exchange, connection, shared learning and collaboration.
Speakers include, amongst others:
- The Social Enterprise Academy: Surika Behrens leads the South African Hub of Social Enterprise Academy (SEA). She is passionate about empowering impact makers to drive sustainable change through learning and development. SEA facilitates transformational programmes in social enterprise, leadership and impact measurement, using a practitioner- and peer-led "learning by doing" ethos rather than conventional classroom training.
- Megan Galloway: With a background in the diamond exploration industry, Megan understands what it means to literally search for treasure, to persist even when the odds seems stacked against you. She acknowledges that people working in NPOs face pressures that cannot be solved by taking a deep breath but yet the way we respond under pressure affects our thinking, decisions, relationships and ability to keep doing meaningful work.
