Join us for a scenic 15 km coastal and countryside adventure through the beautiful and lesser-known area of Mount Moreland, starting from Salta Mall in Umdloti.

This is your chance to explore a side of the North Coast that many people have never experienced — away from the usual hiking trails and busy tourist spots, with a beautiful mix of sugarcane fields, quiet farm roads, coastal scenery and beaches.

As we make our way through the countryside, keep your eyes on the sky! With the route taking us close to King Shaka International Airport, you'll have the unique experience of watching aircraft flying overhead as they arrive and depart.

We'll also make our way towards the beautiful beaches around Umdloti, giving you the perfect combination of countryside and coast in one adventure.

Expect sugarcane fields, rural roads, ocean views, beaches and plenty of fresh air — all while exploring a part of the North Coast that remains relatively unknown to most hikers.

15 KM — HALF-DAY SCENIC ADVENTURE

A longer route for regular hikers and anyone looking to experience something a little different.

The route combines:

-Sugarcane fields

-Quiet farm roads

-Beautiful beaches

-Aircraft flying overhead

-Coastal scenery

-A lesser-known part of the North Coast

WHAT TO BRING

• Plenty of water or cold drinks
• Snacks / packed lunch
• Comfortable backpack
• Walking shoes or takkies with good grip
• Hat and sunscreen
• Rain jacket — just in case

IMPORTANT

This is a 15 km hike involving a mixture of beach, farm roads and natural terrain. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended.

The hike will go ahead in normal weather conditions. We will only cancel if conditions become extreme, such as extreme heat or cold, hail or heavy rain.

A little rain won't hurt anyone — and it might even make the sugarcane look better!
