MOODSHIP and friends: Live at the Slave Church Museum

Critically acclaimed musician Moodship (aka Gary Thomas) is returning to South Africa after two years for one show only at the incredible Slave Church Museum in Cape Town. After moving to Spain in December 2024, he has written a body of new work, recorded a new album and is gearing up for a string of shows in 2027.

Moodship is a highly celebrated, award-winning South African musician. His enigmatic style blends rich, moody song writing with a vast array of alternative guitar techniques and precision multi- tasking. He is known for his diverse performances that can go from the beautifully cinematic to the energetically virtuosic in seconds. Moodship has won two Standard Bank Ovation Awards at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, South Africa. He is endorsed by ERNIE BALL GUITAR STRINGS. In 2008 he opened for Fink on his South African tour. Moodship has toured all over South Africa, Kenya, England, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic, Belgium and France. In September 2022, he toured Kenya including concerts on Lamu Island. He has made countless television and radio appearances and performed at all the major festivals in South Africa. His last European tour was in 2017. Moodship last toured South Africa in March 2024 performing 18 concerts all over the country. In December 2024 he moved to Andalucia, Spain and is currently working on a new album. His last EP (What I couldn’t carry) came out in May 2025.
