Detroit legends Slum Village bring three decades of hip-hop history to Braamfontein for one night only. Guest performance by Vice Soulectric

Formed in Conant Gardens in the early 1990s by T3, Baatin and the late J Dilla, Slum Village became a cornerstone of Detroit's hip-hop scene and one of the most influential groups of their generation. Today T3 and Grammy-nominated producer Young RJ: Dilla's protégé: carry the legacy forward, honouring the group's founding ethos while pushing the sound somewhere new.

Expect the catalogue: Tainted, Selfish (with Kanye West and John Legend), cuts from Fantastic Vol. 2, Trinity, Detroit Deli, Villa Manifesto and YES, alongside material from their acclaimed recent album F.U.N., featuring Cordae, Larry June, Elijah Fox and Eric Roberson.

Opening the night is United Grind co-founder Vice Souletric: the Ohio-born artist and producer whose six-album catalogue features Slum Village, Talib Kweli, Pete Rock, Benny The Butcher, 9th Wonder, Hi-Tek and Young RJ.
