Mimi Mtshali & Mdu Mtshali Quartet — Live at Queens

Award-winning jazz vocalist Mimi Mtshali joins acclaimed pianist and composer Mdu Mtshali for a special evening of South African jazz at Queens Whisky & Cocktail Lounge.

A powerful and expressive vocalist, Mimi draws inspiration from jazz greats including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan, while bringing her own distinctly South African voice to the music. Pianist Mdu Mtshali is one of South Africa’s exciting contemporary jazz voices, deeply rooted in the country’s jazz tradition while bringing a fresh, modern approach to the music.

They are joined by Shaun Johannes on double bass and Dillon Myburgh on drums for an evening of swinging jazz, beautiful ballads and superb musicianship in the intimate listening environment of Queens.
