Langarm - Sokkie Gat Party

The Gat Party is a popular monthly LGBTQIA+ dance event in Cape Town that brings people together for a night of traditional Afrikaans social dancing, including langarm and sokkie hits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s 90’s and current hits, Line Dance and waltzes and themed party hits.

A safe, welcoming, and inclusive space that is queer-friendly and proudly straight-friendly. It is a bring-your-own-drinks and snacks event. There is no bar, but ice is sold at the venue.”

Dress Code: Casual and relaxed—attendees can dress up, go themed, or come as they are in shorts and plakkies (slates/flip-flops).

Tickets: Advance pre-booking is strictly required (R60 per person), as no tickets are sold at the door.
