Ethical AI Integration for Teaching, Research, and Administration in Education

The response of educators to the rise of generative artificial intelligence and large language models is disturbingly uneven. Practices that are forbidden in one section of an institution might well be compulsory in another. Apart from lack of knowledge of the field, the main cause of this disconnect is the lack of a theoretical underpinning for policy and practice, leading to "quick fixes" and reactive policies.

This masterclass provides academics with a deeply theoretical, ethically grounded, and practical framework for integrating AI across the higher education landscape.

Grounded in Posthumanism, Rhizome Theory, and the debate between Behaviourism and Construcivism, this interactive workshop re-examines human agency, intellectual labour, and pedagogy. Rather than viewing AI as an external object, delegates will develop their own tools for research, learning and teaching using AI while keeping the human in the loop.
