If you’re a business leader or entrepreneur, you know that leadership comes with its own particular pressures, particularly if you are responsible for someone else’s livelihood.

You carry responsibility. You make decisions that affect other people. There are challenges that are sometimes difficult to talk about, and leadership can actually be quite lonely.

So we want to invite you to our Business Leaders & Entrepreneurs Supper.

It’s really quite simple. We want to get people around a table, share some honest stories, build friendships, eat together, and pray together. Because ultimately, we need God’s help. We need His wisdom, His strength, and His wind behind our sails.

We’ve invited three people to share something of their own journey with us.

Fred Zietsman is the Group CEO of Takealot. I actually met Fred while we were on holiday, and we became friends. He’s relatively young to be carrying the kind of responsibility he carries, and I think there’s something really valuable in hearing his story and what he’s learning along the way.

Duke Mgaga is the Chief People Officer at the Parliament of South Africa. Before Parliament, Duke spent many years in senior leadership in the corporate world. His journey into Parliament is quite an unusual one. Around the time of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Thuma Mina, “send me”, call to South Africans, Duke was personally invited to bring his experience from business into the public sector. He didn’t go in as a politician, but as someone tasked with helping shape the people and culture of Parliament. It means he now leads in an incredibly complex and sometimes hostile environment, and I think he has a remarkable story to tell about leadership, purpose and remaining faithful in the place where God has put you.

And then Bradley Joshua, who is part of our church family, is the CEO and Executive Producer of Gambit Films. Gambit was one of the early Coloured-owned production companies to emerge in South Africa’s film and television industry, helping open doors in an industry where ownership and opportunity had historically been limited. They’ve since produced more than 2,000 episodes of television, including Suidooster, as well as Netflix productions such as Blood & Water, Unseen and Blood Legacy. Bradley has built something significant in the South African film industry, and he has his own story of faith, leadership, creativity, pressure and perseverance.

But this evening isn’t really about coming to hear three successful people tell us how to be successful.

It’s about honest stories, friendships, and prayer.

So if you’re a business leader or entrepreneur, particularly if you are responsible for someone else’s livelihood, we’d really love you to join us for supper.
