Why join this event

Our earliest more-than-human ancestors evolved in Water.

We were all conceived and born in Water, and our blessed human bodies are still made up mostly of Water in volume.

We drink Water, our food, clothes and homes are grown and made with Water.

We ARE Water.

Research by fellow Nature communicator Veda Austin shows us that Water holds memory, and reflects back to us what we think, say and do.

So this year, on my 40th birthday, Ecofluency is dedicating this World Peace Day to offering a prayer, blessing, invocation to the spirit of Water. This is in response to a request from Nature, and because of the drought being experienced by many parts of South Africa, my home country.

By being in gratitude, we enter into a state of grace, attuning to the intelligence and eternal grace of Nature, which helps to bring dynamic balance to the Water in ourselves and the wider ecosystems, especially in ecosystems where droughts and floods have occurred.

Based on experience in my own life and in numerous client cases, this allows for spontaneous healing to occur, often with results that go beyond what Western science deems possible.

While we will set clear intentions, the invitation is to let go of expectations, and trust in the greater wisdom of Nature.

Visiting Pinnacle Point Cave 13b, UNESCO World Heritage site, with archeological evidence dating back almost 170,000 years of how humans lived with the sea, with Point of Human Origins.

Who is this for?

This event is open to everyone, from all backgrounds and professions.

Nature communication is a skill that every single human alive on this Earth of ours can rekindle, and children generally are quicker to regain this skill than adults.

No previous experience is required, just BYOB - bring your own beliefs!

What to bring and expect

Please join up to 5min before the call starts, so that we can begin on time.

Please bring:

  • water to stay hydrated
  • a bowl or cup of spring water or rainwater from your area
  • writing or drawing materials
  • a curious mind and open heart!

We'll begin with a very brief introduction to what is Nature communication, with one or two stories about reviving old springs and wells, and calling in the rain.

We’ll flow into a guided journey to meet the spirit of Water in both inner and outer landscapes, and close with a sharing circle and time for Q&A. Sharing about your experience is optional; your presence and attention are the gift to Water.

No previous experience required. This is a BYOB event - bring your own beliefs!

What is Nature communication?

Essentially, Nature communication is the oldest language that exists.

This inherent ability, sometimes called intuitive or interspecies communication, is a capacity that all humans have, because we are Nature.

Since their earliest days, our ancestors knew intuitively how to communicate with all beings, including plants, animals, ancestors, landscapes and more. They were more deeply in touch with Nature, and this is where they got a lot of their knowledge, such as harvesting plants for food, medicine, fibre for clothing and housing.

Even today, this ability is still within us, but many of us have forgotten it because of modern systems and ways of living. Fortunately, it is still practiced by indigenous/ First Nations cultures and spiritual traditions around the world, and there is a growing field of academic research in intuitive interspecies communication worldwide.

Everyone can do this, whether you're a farmer, corporate leader, home-maker, butcher, baker or candlestick-maker, or live any other kind of human lifestyle. Whoever your ancestors are, remembering this way of accessing wisdom is eco-socio-cultural repair on many levels, and is a tool for stitching both one's soul and the world whole again.

When working with land in this way, we can reclaim our role as a beneficial keystone species in regenerating landscapes, and not just restoring ecosystems as engineers, but as biodiversity artists.

When we remember the magic and power of this birthright, it can help us embody greater health, humility, happiness and harmony in all of life’s relationships. It can bring a sense of belonging, that benefits yourself, others and our beloved Earth.

You not only begin to embody an understanding the value of our immediate environment and entire Earth (and beyond), but are also experiencing how Nature values you.

The world of Nature is waiting, join the conversation!

Facilitator bio

Dr Saskia von Diest is the founder of Ecofluency, an award-winning organisation that offers education, consulting, research and activism in Nature communication.

In 2012, an animal communication weekend workshop during her PhD sparked her interest in how farmers use intuitive communication with Nature to inform practical management decisions. From 2014 to 2020, she held two postdoctoral fellowships, at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and at Coventry University, UK, to investigate intuitive farming as part of a wider new field of subtle agroecology.

Throughout her postdoctoral years, Saskia further developed her own understanding and practice in communicating with trees, animals, landscapes, nature spirits and ancestors. She’s also trained as a Family Constellations facilitator, and in energy field clearings for people, homes and landscapes.

Since officially launching in 2021, Ecofluency has appeared numerous times on various media platforms including TV, and was awarded gold for innovation at the Eco-logic Awards in 2025.

With 18 years of experience in teaching and facilitating, Saskia works internationally with individuals and organisations, online and in-person. She promotes other human voices in the field of Nature communication, and is a founding member of Nature’s Council and a co-founder of the Organisation for Noetic Ecology.

Her passion is creating experiences for humans to reclaim the power of our ancestral skills, joining the conversation with the rest of Nature once again, for personal transformation, planetary well-being and the evolution of our shared consciousness: www.ecofluency.org
