Bursary Winners’ Concert 2026
The NWU School of Creative Industries and Performing Arts (formerly School of Music) invites audiences to an inspiring evening celebrating the exceptional talent of its 2026 Bursary Competition winners on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
The concert presents a vibrant programme spanning opera, classical, musical theatre and contemporary repertoire, featuring works by Bellini, Schubert, Chopin, Bridge, Strauss, Hummel, Beethoven, Chaminade, Vaughan Williams, Lehár and L. Mchunu, among others.
Highlights include Bellini’s I Puritani, Schubert’s Erlkönig, Chopin’s Nocturne in C-sharp minor, Hummel’s Concerto in E-flat Major, and Rautavaara’s Étude “Thirds”. The programme also features popular and musical theatre selections from Dreamgirls and City of Angels, alongside Stormy Weather and A Song for You.
