Ten years ago, a bunch of oke's with day jobs started getting together after hours in a workshop in Joostenbergvlakte.

No fancy studio. No big money. Just a few mates, some instruments and a lekker excuse to make noise until midnight.

When the sun went down, the sweating started.

Sunset Sweatshop was born.

Fast forward ten years and those sweaty after-hours jams have taken them from playing bars around Stellenbosch and Bellville to touring Southern Africa, crossing borders into Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia, playing major festivals and sharing stages with some seriously big names.

They played the Splashy Fen River Stage in front of about 10 people back in 2017.

Last year?

Main stage. Around 10 000 people.

Not too shabby.

Along the way, “Move It” became a number-one hit, picked up the Bokkie Award for Best Song, and the band went on to win Band of the Year. Songs like Coming Along, Aye, Kick It and Be One have since become part of the soundtrack for a proper good time.

Now they're coming to Daisy Jones to celebrate 10 YEARS OF SUNSET SWEATSHOP.

Expect the full crew, the big singalongs, the feel-good festival vibes and enough ghoema rock, reggae, funk, soul and South African flavour to get even the people who "don't dance" moving their feet.

And because a proper Sunday party needs a proper warm-up, Battersby kicks things off at 14h00.

Battersby brings together a bunch of seriously experienced musicians with a sound that moves between classic rock, mid-2000s indie and something a little fresher. Raw, layered and built for the stage, they're all about one thing:The places music takes us.

So bring the family. Bring the kids. Bring your mates. Grab a table, order some food, get a cold one and settle in for a Sunday afternoon with one of SA's most feel-good live bands.

Ten years. Thousands of kilometres. Hundreds of stages. Plenty of sweat.

And they're still coming along.
