Our next ReStory Business Connect is coming up and this one speaks to something we all face in life – change! However, rather than merely focusing on managing change, we will consider how to transition well through moments of change.

SESSION TOPIC: NAVIGATING HEALTHY TRANSITIONS

Most of us have experienced a transition that went wrong. Not primarily because people didn't care but because leaders too often default to managing change rather than leading transition – and there is a difference.

Change focuses on the outcome — a new role, the restructure, an appointment, the pivot. Transition focuses on the process – it is part of the inner complex of attitudes, assumptions and expectations that we all carry in our heads. When transitions are unhealthy, change often hurts.

The good news is that leading healthy transitions is a learnable skill. And it looks the same whether you are navigating your own career move, growing a team member toward their next level, or stewarding a large organisational shift.

In the time together, we will :

• Understand the difference between managing change and leading transition;
• Map the four emotional phases that people move through in any transition; and
• Work through three essential questions that unlock a healthy transition — for you or for the people you lead.
