About the event

African ritual steams are held for many reasons, such as healing, prayer, strengthening, and opening the heart, and are sacred ceremonies designed for physical, emotional, and spiritual cleansing. Participants enter a dome-shaped structure, covered with a temporary cover. Heated stones are placed in the space to generate steam. These rituals use medicinal herbs, gathered in Cape Town or Botswana to support the prayers and song.

These ceremonies are often held for women to connect, share, and support each other, with some gatherings specifically inviting sisters, mothers, and daughters.

We use the power of the song, steam, heat and herbs to access our four most ancient ancestors: Air, Fire, Water & Earth.
