Scandinavian-Inspired woodworking workshop
Craft a beautiful, functional piece from wood under the guidance of a woodworking master. This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of woodworking through focused practical projects that combine clean design, careful craftsmanship and everyday functionality.
New participants will create a Scandinavian-style designer lamp while learning the proper use and maintenance of basic hand tools. Through carefully guided exercises, they will practise essential skills such as measuring, marking out, cutting and assembly, developing accuracy, control and an understanding of the broader making process.
More experienced and returning makers may choose to create a timeless wooden box with a precision-fitted lid. This project explores traditional planing techniques, the controlled use of chisels and the principles of hand-cut joinery. Participants will learn how strong, precise joints are formed without relying on power tools, while developing a deeper appreciation for materials, process and handcrafted design.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with a completed piece and a stronger foundation in woodworking practice.

1-Day workshop ideal for young and older adults (16 years +)
What you need to bring
The CTCA will supply all materials and PPE for the duration of the workshop. Should you prefer to use your own noise-cancelling headphones, you are welcome to bring them along.
Bring a light lunch. Snacks, water, coffee and tea will be available.
What you will take home
Make your own Scandinavian-style designer lamp or timeless wooden box with a precision-fitted lid and take home a beautiful, functional piece made by your own hands under the guidance of a woodworking master.
