ABOUT

Recitals at Glenshiel is pleased to present for the first time Phenye Modiane, Leonie Greyling and Kerryn Wisniewksi - Music from the Movies.

Music from the Movies will take audiences on a captivating journey through some of cinema’s most memorable and moving melodies. Long after the final scene has faded from the screen, a beautiful film score continues to live in our hearts—awakening memories, deepening emotions and transporting us back to the stories and characters we love.

This special concert celebrates the extraordinary power of music written for film. The programme brings together soaring themes, romantic melodies and deeply expressive works from beloved international films.

Audiences can look forward to the stirring “Il Gladiatore” from Gladiator, the tender and nostalgic “Cinema Paradiso”, and the hauntingly beautiful “Parla più piano” from The Godfather. The programme will also feature the poignant “Remember” from Troy and the uplifting “Sorridi amore vai” from Life Is Beautiful, among several other cinematic treasures.

Each selection has been chosen for its ability to tell a story without the need for words or images. Through music, we will revisit scenes of courage, romance, heartbreak, hope and triumph—celebrating the unforgettable role that a powerful soundtrack plays in bringing a film to life.
