There are seasons when you plant.

Seasons when nothing seems to grow.

Seasons underground.

And then there is the bloom.

IN FULL BLOOM is a woman arriving at herself.

On 3 November, I return to the stage at Untitled Basement carrying the music that has travelled with me through all the women I have been. With You. Nguwe. Sweet Poison. Maybe I. Butterflies. Songs written by younger versions of me who knew things I did not yet know I knew.

And then there is Surrender.

The music of the woman I am now.

I used to think surrender meant giving something up. Turns out, sometimes surrender is what allows you to receive. To soften. To trust God. To stop wrestling every season into submission and allow yourself to become.

Perhaps that is what blooming is.

Not becoming someone new, but finally having enough light to open.

For IN FULL BLOOM, I will perform my catalogue alongside the music from my new album Surrender, with a full band under the Executive Production direction of Thandiswa Mazwai.

The evening itself is still blooming too.

We will be announcing special guests, additions to the line-up and little surprises as we make our way to 3 November. So get your ticket, and stay close.
