JHF in Action bus tour - Find out what the JHF has been up to

Sun Sep 6, 14:00 - Sun Sep 6, 16:30

Sunnyside Park Hotel

ABOUT

Most people know the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation (JHF) for our popular tours that promote Joburg’s rich legacy, but we do so much more! JHF is also a fierce advocate on behalf of our city’s most vulnerable heritage sites.

Join JHF founder, the legendary Flo Bird, and her successor, current JHF chair and activist in his own right, David Fleminger, for an enlightening and entertaining bus journey through the inner city. Hear all about some of the JHF’s most significant projects over the past few years including our ups and downs, victories and defeats, straight from the horses’ mouths.

From the ongoing fight over the Johannesburg Art Gallery to the successful re-opening of the Johannesburg City Library, the tour will include updates on Beyers Naude Square, Chancellor House, Museum Afrika, Braamfontein Cemetery, St Alban’s Church, police cells in Burghersdorp, Joubert Park, Sunbeam House in Hillbrow and more. Get the story behind the story on this unique tour!

The bus will depart from the Sunnyside Park Hotel. Please arrive 30 mins early to ensure a prompt departure. You are welcome to bring along drinks and snacks.

Please note: Due to the expense of booking a bus, we reserve the right to cancel a bus tour (with refunds) if we do not sell enough tickets to cover costs. Thank you for your understanding.
