ABOUT
INGOMA: An African A Cappella Musical
What happens when a language starts to disappear?
INGOMA is an original African a cappella musical that explores language, identity, culture and the power of music to keep stories alive.
Set around a competition that brings six young people together, the production asks what it means to know where you come from, to take pride in your language, and to protect the things that connect us to those who came before us.
Blending drama with live a cappella music, INGOMA moves through isiZulu, Sesotho, Tshivenda, Setswana, IsiXhosa, and many other African languages.
Rhythm Syndicates brings the music to life through voice, harmony, body percussion and movement, creating a soundscape rooted in African musical expression.
This is more than a competition. It is a conversation about who we are, what we carry, and what we choose to pass on.
Come experience INGOMA - where language becomes music, and music becomes identity.
