Four acclaimed university choirs. Hundreds of exceptional young voices. One unforgettable performance.

Stellenbosch University is proud to host KUESTA 2026, the biennial University Choir Festival celebrating choral excellence, collaboration and the rich diversity of South African music.

For one performance only, the Stellenbosch University Choir will be joined by the choirs of the North-West University, University of Johannesburg and the University of the Free State. Each choir will present highlights from its own repertoire, showcasing the distinctive sound, character and musical excellence of its university - all in one extraordinary concert.

Journey musically from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg and Potchefstroom before returning home to Stellenbosch, under the musical direction of four leading university choir conductors: Kobus Venter (NWU), Sizwe Mondlane (UJ), Werner Stander (UFS) and Stellenbosch’s own André van der Merwe (SU).

KUESTA offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience four of South Africa’s leading university choirs sharing the Endler stage. Expect an inspiring celebration filled with exceptional artistry, youthful energy and the unmistakable power of voices coming together.
