The Johannesburg Garden Club Open Garden 2026

The ladies of The Johannesburg Garden Club have been gardening for good - in style - for 75 years! Come and celebrate with us at the 2026 Open Garden!

17 - 18 OCTOBER 2026 10AM - 4PM | Tickets R100 (Free entry for children under 12)

Tickets will also be available at the gate, please keep in mind that this will be capacity-dependent, if you want to guarantee swift entry we recommend that you buy a ticket in advance. THIS IS A CASHLESS EVENT

The proceeds raised will go to Johannesburg Child Welfare.

Live Band - Phoenix Big Band will perform on Sunday at 12

Join us for a chance to see this magnificent garden, open for one weekend only.

We will have refreshments available at our Champagne, Wine & Salmon Bar and in the Tea Garden.

Plant Sale

A range of homegrown plants (from our Members) will be available for sale.

There will be stands of imported Italian terracotta pots, brandy wine barrels and iron work from Garden Blue. We'll be introducing the latest rose from Ludwigs - The Gwen Gill - named for the legendary columnist.

Raffle

We will be running a raffle at our event with some fabulous prizes. Raffle tickets are R30 for one or R100 for four - be in it to win it! The draw will take place on Monday the 19th of October.

No pets allowed.

About the Garden

This is a mature 1 ½ acres of garden having been laid out back in the mid 20th century. The more recent focus has been on blue and white planting with splashes of colour from the rose garden. There is a historical link to the Inanda Club because one of the Founders lived in the house

The garden is a mixture of formality and under tree planting with winding paths where fairies could dwell.
